| Chasing Elusive Sonoma Victory … Hailie Deegan is chasing an elusive victory for Bill McAnally Racing (BMR) on Friday afternoon in Sonoma’s wine country. The driver of the No. 16 Columbia Bank Chevrolet enters the third race in her home state of California on the winding 1.99-mile road course as she looks to propel herself back up the ARCA Menards Series West (AMSW) championship standings. The Temecula, Calif. native seeks to capture something that has foiled BMR’s illustrious history – a victory at Sonoma Raceway. Road Map to Sonoma … Deegan’s road course road map leading to this weekend’s 47-laps contest in Sonoma includes 12 total road course starts between AMSW, ARCA Menards Series, NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Trucks Series (NCTS), and the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Her resume includes a top-10 result in the NCTS at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (2022) and a pole award in the AMSW’s visit to Sonoma Raceway in 2019 driving a BMR entry. A year ago, Christian Eckes came within 0.06 seconds of the victory for BMR, a feat that Deegan is motivated to complete on Friday afternoon. Season to Date … Six of the 13 AMSW races are in the books as the tour turns to the first of two road course events. Deegan and the No. 16 Columbia Bank team sit fifth in the championship standings, 51 markers behind the lead with four top-10 results to her credit.
