Brickyard Backyard … Tyler Ankrum, driver of the No. 18 LIUNA Chevrolet Silverado RST is headed up to a fan favorite race track this Friday night under the lights, Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park (IRP). In four starts at the 0.686-mile shot track, the young driver has tallied three top-10 and one top-five finish with a best of fourth coming at the summer event in 2024. Three of his four runs at IRP came out smooth and solid besides his 2023 start where he had an electrical issue that ended his night early. The 25-year-old driver is looking for a top-tier points night to start the journey of getting him back to a comfortable cushion leading into “The Chase” with just three races remaining in the regular season.

Season To Date … It has been a tough start to the year for the No. 18 bunch but their constant confidence and resilience has show through day in, and day out. Ankrum has hit a long stretch of unfortunate luck but he has the upmost confidence in crew chief Mark Hillman and the team to get back on track this weekend at IRP. This track has treated the San Bernardino, Calif. native very well in the past and they look to continue that top 10 streak this Friday to get back in the playoffs.

Spoiler Highlights … Tyler Ankrum and the No. 18 team are excited to welcome aboard LIUNA local contractor Miller Pipeline to adorn the left-side spoiler of the No. 18 Chevrolet Silverado in the TSport 200 Friday night at IRP. Founded in 1953, Miller Pipeline has grown to provide a comprehensive range of pipeline contracting and rehabilitation services for natural gas, liquids, water, and wastewater pipelines.

Tyler Ankrum Quote:
“It has been tough the last couple weeks to say the least but we are not focusing on the negatives and only throwing forward the positives. This No. 18 team has put in so much work at the shop and at the track to give us what we need to stay in contention in these races and I am extremely confident our day will come soon. We are in rough shape with just three races remaining before the chase but if we can just knock out a few solid points races here in the next month, we will be good to go. Thankful to have a sponsor like LIUNA backing us and supporting us through all of the results. Big weekend for LIUNA at IRP so looking forward to putting on a good performance for them and hopefully coming out on top this weekend.”
