Michigan is Back … Tyler Ankrum, driver of the No. 18 LIUNA Chevrolet Silverado RST heads back to Brooklyn, MI for the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) 125-lap event this Saturday. The NCTS has not run at Michigan International Speedway since 2020 when times were a little out of the normalcy. Ankrum and the No. 18 team are excited to get back to the 2 mile D-shaped oval in hopes to stay in contention for another top-five finish.
Michigan History … The San Bernardino, Calif. native has two previous starts at Michigan. In 2019, Ankrum laid down a solid qualifying lap that led him to start the race third in line but had an abrupt ending in the closing laps after being collected getting turned headed into Turn 1 as Ankrum was leading and ended their day just a few laps shy of a victory. In 2020, the young driver brought home a fourth-place finish after a hard battle all day long. Rest assured, the 24-year-old is ready for redemption in the “Irish Hills”.
Spoiler Highlights … Ankrum and the No. 18 team are excited to welcome aboard LIUNA Local contractor Barton Malow to adorn the left-side spoiler in the NCTS event. For more than a century, Barton Malow has been committed to building People, Projects, and Communities. The Barton Malow Family of Companies is comprised of five entities and two partner firms. With team members strategically positioned across North America, they are on a mission to transform the construction industry through innovation and increased efficiencies in the building process.

Tyler Ankrum Quote:
“Michigan is an awesome track, and I am super pumped that we are headed back there this weekend after 5 years. It is by far the fastest track we visit on the NASCAR circuit and it definitely has it’s challenges but I am ready to turn this bad luck that we have had the past few runs around and score a solid finish here this weekend. We have 700 of my LIUNA brothers and sisters attending this weekend and I can’t wait to get out there and visit everyone.”
