On The Road Again … The first road course event of the season for Daniel Hemric and the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Trucks Series (NCTS) competitors also marks the inaugural event at Lime Rock Park (LRP) on Saturday afternoon. It’s been nine years since the driver of the No. 19 NAPA Auto Care Chevrolet Silverado RST has made a NCTS start on a road course, and the short 1.47-mile Connecticut course poses a new challenge for him. Between his NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) tenure and two prior NCTS seasons, Hemric has come close to a road course victory with nine top-five finishes but looks to break through for his second win of 2025 at LRP.
Top Shelf Top-Five’s … In the season’s first 14 races, Hemric has achieved an elite level of consistency. He’s batting .500 on top-five finishes thus far with seven of them through 14 races. Most recently, Hemric chalked up a fifth-place finish in resilient fashion at Pocono Raceway last Friday evening. That mark ties him with fellow MHR teammate Tyler Ankrum for second-most in the series. As the tour turns to the first of three road courses on the slate, Hemric hopes to bank the first road racing victory for MHR. Since recording two top-five’s at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in the NCTS back in 2015 and 2016, Hemric has notched seven top-five results at four different road course venues in NXS competition.
Season to Date … Hemric and the No. 19 NAPA Auto Care team enter LRP third in the NCTS point standings with a victory under their belt at Martinsville Speedway. In addition to his seven top-five’s, Hemric also owns 10 top-10 finishes, which is tied with three other competitors for the most in the series. His consistency has also netted the second-best average finish of all NCTS regulars at 8.4.
Tune In … FOX Network will air live coverage from LRP on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. ET. Weekend coverage begins with practice on FOX Sports 2 at 1:00 p.m. ET Friday afternoon and continues on Saturday morning with qualifying on FOX Sports 1 at 9:30 a.m. ET. Daniel Hemric Quote:
On his first outing at Lime Rock:
“The playing field always gets leveled when you go to a racetrack for the first time. That will change after we have 50 minutes of practice Friday and everyone gets comfortable with the racetrack and what we need out of our trucks. MHR has a history of running well at the road courses, so it’d be nice to continue that and get our NAPA Auto Care Chevrolet in victory lane on Saturday, rain or shine. We’re going to have to qualify up front to do that. All your gains will be on the racetrack since we have controlled pit stops this weekend. Pit road has been a strength of ours this year, so everything that happens on track will be even more critical this weekend.”
