Golden Opportunity … The NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Trucks Series (NCTS) inaugural visit to Lime Rock Park (LRP) presents a golden opportunity for Connor Mosack to amplify his rookie season. The playoff hopes for the driver of the No. 81 Friends of Jaclyn Foundation Chevrolet Silverado RST could drastically improve following the checkered flag on Saturday afternoon. Mosack, a Bonafide road course stalwart, is one of the few drivers in Saturday’s field with extensive experience at the compact 1.478-mile circuit and looks to contend for his first-career victory.
Winding It Up … Mosack and the No. 81 team enter Lime Rock with a substantial amount of momentum after earning a season-high sixth-place finish at Pocono Raceway last Friday. His best finish of the year came on the heels of a notable performance at Michigan International Speedway where he led laps and earned stage points in both segments. Mosack has an extensive road racing background as he spent two seasons competing in the Trans-Am TA2 series in 2021-2022. He recently returned to LRP in May to compete in the TA2 event where he finished seventh. His road racing exploits also include 11 NASCAR Xfinity Series starts and a sixth-place finish at the Chicago Street Course. LRP presents a perfect opportunity for Mosack to utilize his road course experience to challenge for his first-career win and disrupt the playoff landscape.
Season to Date … As 14 of 18 regular season races are complete, Mosack has advanced to 16th in the NCTS drivers’ standings but likely needs a victory to qualify for the playoffs. His 62 points earned over the last two races has vaulted him four positions in the standings, which included his season-best finish at Pocono Raceway. He has recorded one pole award and two top-10 finishes through 14 of 25 races.
Tune In … Saturday’s inaugural event at LRP will be televised on FOX network at 1:00 p.m. ET. Weekend coverage begins at 1:00 p.m. ET Friday with practice on FOX Sports 2, followed by qualifying coverage Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. ET on FOX Sports 1. Connor Mosack Quote:
On the first NCTS race at Lime Rock Park:
“I love road course racing and am glad that the trucks are getting the chance to race at Lime Rock. It’s a short, compact track with a lot of elevation, so that will be a challenge with these vehicles. I’ve run at Lime Rock in the TA2 car and have a good understanding of the track and know what we need to feel in our Friends of Jaclyn Foundation Chevy. I’ve been looking forward to this weekend and know it’s a great chance for us to run up front and compete for a win. We’ve had a lot of speed the last two weeks, so hopefully we can carry that over to our road course program.”
