Kris Wright completed his first NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Trucks Series appearance of the 2025 season on Friday evening at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL with a 26th-place finish. The driver of the No. 16 F.N.B. Corporation Chevrolet made his maiden outing with MHR in the tour’s first event on the 2.28-mile circuit.

Wright posted the 25th-quickest time in Friday afternoon’s group qualifying session and made solid progress in the event’s first segment. After avoiding the race’s first yellow on lap three, Wright climbed as high as 19th by lap seven. Crew chief Darren Fraley elected to “flip” the opening segment with a four-tire pit stop which placed Wright 32nd at the end of Stage 1 on lap 20.

Stage 2 began in 18th on lap 24 for Wright and he made a quick bid for 17th off the ensuing restart. He was the victim of contact and was spun in the infield section of the course on lap 27 and was relegated to 32nd. As a result, he stayed on track for the remainder of the segment and ran 23rd at the end of Stage 2 on lap 40.

After pitting under the second stage caution, Wright took the green in 21st on lap 45. He held the 23rd position until he was forced to serve a drive-through penalty after missing the frontstretch chicane on lap 53. After losing a lap to the race leaders, Wright took the checkered flag in 26th following an overtime restart to close the afternoon.

Kris Wright Quote:

“I had a great time back in the F.N.B. Corporation Chevy and back in the seat. We found a little speed in Stage 2 and felt pretty decent about it at that point. Thanks to everyone on this No. 16 team and at MHR for the effort. Overall, we’ll chalk it up as a positive day and move on to Talladega.”
