Backyard Racing … Jack Wood, driver of the No. 91 Adaptive One Calipers Chevrolet Silverado RST heads just a hop, skip and a jump down the road Friday afternoon for the inaugural NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race (NCTS) at the Charlotte Roval. This is the first time in Roval history that the NCTS will make an appearance at the 2.32-mile road course. Majority of the contenders will take a travel break as Charlotte Motor Speedway is right in their backyard or close to it. Wood and the No. 91 team look to make a deep impression on the field and come back stronger than ever for the EcoSave 250.

Road Course Redemption … The Loomis, Calif. native has had a tough season of road courses where he is looking to redeem those stats this Friday in Concord, N.C. The vent at Lime Rock sailed off to a rocky start at the No. 91 was not able to qualify. Starting in the back of the pack, he got to work early and held on mid-field for the majority of the race. A late-race caution allowed him to restart 17th until a gaggle of chaos broke out heading into Turn 1 and relegated the young driver to a 22nd-place finish. At Watkins Glen International, Wood was making his way up the hill and through the esses on lap 35 until he blew a left-front tire and was sent bouncing off the inside retaining walls. This rough hit benched the young driver for a race to recover in health. Safe to say, the driver of the No. 91 is ready for redemption here at the Charlotte Roval.

Jack Wood Quote:

“Road courses have been a challenge for us this year but we are not going to let that get us down. This No. 91 team has put in a lot of work to give me a solid road course truck and although this is a new course for us, we have been working really hard in the sim and I think we are going to have a good run for sure. Execution is key here as a lot of mistakes can happen at any moment so we just need to have momentum and keep our heads on straight and we will have a solid day.”
